I recently got a request to make butterscotch and M&M cookies. I thought the request was unusual but as I love challenges I started searching for a recipe that took into account these ingredients. After spending a couple of days searching the internet, I found a recipe on Picky Palate.
The recipe is fairly simple and the results are great – if you don’t like extra sweet cookies then I would recommend reducing the amount of sugar or adding less M&Ms. Also, I changed the recipe a little bit and mixed chocolate chip and butterscotch chips (2 cups of chocolate chips and half a cup of butterscotch chips). The butterscotch chips make the butterscotch flavor pop-out in the cookies. If you decide to go with just the chocolate chips the end result will be more chocolaty. You may also want to try dark chocolate chips as opposed to semi-sweet.
I bought all the ingredients this weekend and made the cookies this afternoon. I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed baking these and I am very pleased with the results. I just took the first batch out of the oven and they look absolutely sumptuous. Can’t wait to see what everyone else thinks of them .
